Days Until is a free collection of live countdown timers and date tools. Pick any holiday from the lists above and you land on its own countdown page, showing the number of whole days left plus a clock that ticks down the hours, minutes and seconds to the exact date. Every count is worked out in your browser from your device's own clock, so the number is always right for today — there is nothing to refresh and no account to create.

Each holiday also has by-year pages. A holiday's main page always counts to its next occurrence; the year pages (for example Christmas 2027 or Thanksgiving 2028) count to that specific date, which is handy when you are planning ahead. The full list of upcoming dates is shown on every countdown page too.

Fixed-date holidays like Halloween (October 31) never move. Holidays that fall on a certain weekday are calculated for you: Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday in November, Memorial Day is the last Monday in May and Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. Easter — and the days that depend on it, such as Good Friday and Mardi Gras — is worked out with the standard church algorithm. Holidays that follow the lunar calendar, like Chinese New Year, use published, verified dates rather than a guess.

Need a date the countdowns don't cover? The Date Calculator does two jobs: it counts the exact number of days between any two dates, and it adds or subtracts a number of days from a start date to tell you where you land — including the day of the week.

Do the countdowns update automatically? Yes. The day count and the hours-minutes-seconds clock are calculated live from your device's date and time, and the clock ticks every second. Reopen the page a week later and it shows the new number with no action from you.

Can I count down to a custom date? The countdown pages cover holidays and common calendar dates. For any other date, use the Date Calculator to find how many days away it is, or to add days to today's date.

How is the date for moving holidays worked out? Holidays tied to a weekday (like the fourth Thursday for Thanksgiving) are computed from the calendar rule, Easter uses the traditional algorithm and lunar dates like Chinese New Year come from a verified list — so the dates match the real calendar every year.

Is it free, and do I need an account? It is completely free with no sign-up. The pages run entirely in your browser, so the dates you enter are not sent anywhere.

Why might my count differ from a friend's by a day? Counts use your device's own date. If the two of you are in different time zones and it is already the next day for one of you, the whole-day count can differ by one until midnight passes.
